If you cannot see the video: Try updating your video card drivers. If you find this does not solve the problem, see the instructions below under "Both".
If you cannot hear the audio: Check to make sure your speakers are on and the volume is not muted. Try clicking the Volume “+” button on the player. Finally, try updating your sound card drivers. If you find this does not solve the problem, see the instructions below under "Both". Both: You may need to adjust the settings in Windows Media Player to download codecs automatically. You may also need to reinstall or update your Windows Media Player.
First, ensure Windows Media Player is set to download codecs automatically: 1. Open Windows Media Player 2. Press Ctrl+M to display the tool bar at the top of the window if it is not already showing 3. Select Tools>Options and then make sure the 'player' tab is selected 4. Check the 'Download Codecs Automatically' box just under 'Automatic Updates' 5. Click ‘Apply’ or ‘OK’.
If you changed the above setting, restart your computer and test the channel. If that did not resolve your problem, ensure you have the latest version of Windows Media Player installed. It can be downloaded from here: http://www.windowsmediaplayer.com or here:http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/AllDownloads.aspx?displang=en&qstechnology=
If a straight upgrade does not fix it, do the following: 1. Uninstall Windows Media Player or "roll back" to a previous version 2. Restart your computer 3. Download and install the newest version of Windows Media Player (but not a beta version) 4. Restart your computer 5. Open the player again to test if it is working properly now. Please note: You may have to repeat the above process more than once for the changes to take full effect. |
