Limitations

A number of functions do not work (due to limitations of Windows Media for Mac) including: VCR controls, Full screen mode, Quality of Service indicators, TV Schedule highlighting, etc. You should, however, be able to use the basic functions of the player such as searching for and watching videos.

There is a known audio issue with the Safari + Flip4Mac combination. If you are using both of these and hear an echoing effect, try disabling the Flip4Mac plugin or using a different web browser.

Flip4Mac recently released version 2.1 which does now support Intel Macs. However, there is a known issue whereby a short portion of the program will play and then loop. To fix this, go to System Preferences > Flip4Mac and check the box that says "Create Streaming Movies" (this box is unchecked by default). The video may still play a little choppy because Flip4Mac is still working out all the bugs in making Intel Macs able to stream WMV files. If the video does freeze or buffer frequently, go to the settings tab on the player, select a lower bitrate setting and click 'confirm'. This should help.

There are two other common playback issues with the latest version of Flip4Mac. One is a very scrambled video image, possibly only occurring on select pieces of programmes. The other is a tendency for the video to freeze when moving from one section of a programme to another. Lowering the bitrate on the "Settings" tab has been found to alleviate (but not necessarily eliminate) both of these issues.

On some systems you may have to wait an extremely long time for the video to connect after opening the player. Please be patient.
